16-Day Campaign Against Gender-Based Violence Concluded by Dalaan Nepal in Laxminiya Rural Municipality
Dalaan Nepal successfully concluded a 16-day campaign against gender-based violence at B.P. Koirala Secondary School, Sapahi, Dhanusha. This initiative significantly contributed to raising awareness about gender-based violence among children, teachers, and community members. The program’s theme was based on the concept of “Good Touch and Bad Touch,” with active participation from students of grades 6, 7, and 8, as well as teachers. It aimed to educate children on ensuring their safety and staying vigilant about gender-based violence.
This campaign is part of Dalaan Nepal’s long-term project focused on empowering single women, women, and widows while ensuring their participation in local governance and decision-making processes. The project prioritizes inclusive governance and women’s rights in the community. The program had a positive impact not only on children but also on teachers and other community members.
The 16-day campaign played a significant role in raising awareness among children, teachers, and the broader community in Laxminiya Rural Municipality. It laid a strong foundation for children’s safety and further strengthened Dalaan Nepal’s objectives of women’s empowerment, promoting inclusive governance, and fostering positive change within communities.
